Halloween Tablescape! ooOOOoooOooOo!!!
I love Halloween, all things Halloween! My mom always made it really fun for me. My birthday is in October and she always did Halloween/dress up parties for my party! Also, I know I’d change my mind on costumes a hundred times and she was very patient with me. I always tried to be patient with my children too- it’s so hard to narrow it down to one choice, right?!? She loved to decorate and entertain. She’s 90 now and I try to do her proud in all things, but mainly I love to decorate my table all fun, because she liked to do that too!
Can you see the black ravens? (They blend in, lol) I love them, I need to get more of them, so creepy! Also, I wanted a tall candelabra, but could only find a shorter one. I found a candle stick that was sort of the same width, I spray painted them both black and used E6000 to stick the candelabra on top of the candle stick. And t-da! I had a tall candelabra. But be careful if you do this, later in the night after the party was over and the candles were out, I picked it up and it fell apart. Thank goodness that didn’t happen when the candles were lit! I bought the roses a few days before the party and didn’t put them in water so they’d start to die and be all droopy and deadish.
I put the bowls and salad plates on the goblets to add some dimension and drama to the table, but really, just trying to show off those ravens!
Below is our Halloween Skeleton Charcuterie board with purple and brown foods. It’s not a great picture, but everything is real food, nothing creepy, lol! There’s (clockwise, starting at 1:00) crackers, assorted chocolates and chocolate cookies, black tortilla chips with salsa I colored green, blackberries, blueberries, black olives, purple and black grapes and in the “hands” of the skeleton is salami and goat cheese in a cute little covered dish. In the middle is beef jerky, teddy grahams and Greek olives. A couple of femurs or tibia’s are sticking out on the side. Not really sure of the names! haha My favorite place to get charcuterie board food is Trader Joes, they have fun items you don’t see everywhere else, and for a great price!
We ate off of the charcuterie board and then had soup out of pumpkin bread bowls with salad, super simple dinner, just a fancy table!
Here’s to hoping your Halloween is especially HauNTed this year…
Have fun!
