Valentine’s Day Table 2 Ways- Simple-ish and Fancy-ish
Yes, we had two Valentines Day dinners this year. We just have so much love to spread around! lol
Below are a couple of images for the “Simple-ish” tablescape.
On this simple-ish Valentines Day table, there’s just chargers, plates and napkins, goblets and utensils. Just the basics. For the center, there’s a runner, with a couple of faux succulents, candle sticks and a wooden bowl with greenery and a red vase I “treasured hunted” at the local second-hand store! Oh, and I love twigs, so there’s some in a small vase. (Twigs, or small tree branches are such a favorite of mine- gathered from around the yard.)
If you notice details, there’s still a few red cardinals left over from Christmas, in my twigs, in the background.
Now, below, is the same table about a week later, but with more drama!
You can see by adding the black tablecloth, stacked plates, more items in the center piece and little gifts on the plates, it becomes oh so fancy-ish! lol
Here’s a different view, I added a branch and some hearts to add interest higher up. I also had added little water colored hearts to my twigs (in the background). Just a few, didn’t want to go “over the top”! (Insert eye roll emoji here, lol) There’s some worsted wool hearts in the centerpiece as well.
Close up of the plates on the Valentines Day table. You know I love a little gift for the guests, so this time, it is a heart shaped box of chocolates, tied up with velvet ribbon.
I know the red’s don’t match, but the fact that they are all stripes of varying sizes and shades, I think it blends and adds interest!
One last shot below, showing my tree branch with hearts to add extra drama! My hubby thinks I’m crazy. lol
One of the things we served was this easy Rosemary Roll recipe, using frozen dough, see below if you want the recipe! My hubby makes them and they are so, so delicious :)
Delicious Rosemary Rolls:
24 (or more) frozen rolls, like Rhodes Rolls
Butter
Coarse Salt
Rosemary (my son calls them “pine needles” lol)
9 x 13 pan
Butter dish very well and place rolls in the dish evenly (we cram in about 30 rolls, for larger crowds). Cover with a kitchen towel and let them thaw and raise in a warm spot for an hour or two (maybe while you decorate your table!). After they are raised, melt more butter. Brush rolls well with melted butter, then sprinkle them with some coarse salt and Rosemary. Bake at 350 degrees until golden on the top, about 10-12 minutes. Surprisingly easy and people will think they are fancy and took you all day to make!
Thanks for stopping by! May ALL the love be yours!
